Organic traffic grew as placements compounded over time. This is the Digital PR “authority flywheel”: trusted mentions and links build credibility first—then rankings and traffic follow.

Introduction

Qooper needed to accelerate organic growth in a competitive mentoring software category. To do that, we ran a two-lane authority strategy: (1) Digital PR to earn branded editorial mentions and high-trust backlinks, and (2) targeted contextual link insertions to strengthen key product and use-case pages. This combination increased authority, improved rankings, and drove compounding traffic growth.

Objectives

  • Earn high-trust branded mentions/backlinks (Digital PR)
  • Improve rankings for priority pages/keywords (Link Insertions)
  • Increase organic traffic
  • Drive qualified demo traffic

The Project

We built a 6-month authority + rankings campaign around Qooper’s highest-value pages and topics. First, we aligned on priority use cases (mentoring programs, career development, DEI, leadership development) and mapped target pages to supporting themes. From there, we executed a two-lane strategy: Digital PR to earn branded editorial mentions and homepage authority, plus targeted contextual placements to support specific product and use-case pages. Progress was tracked monthly across placements earned, authority metrics, and organic performance.

Digital PR Strategy (Primary)

We ran an always-on Digital PR campaign to position Qooper’s team as expert sources in mentoring, L&D, and career development. We monitored journalist requests daily, crafted concise, quotable expert insights, and secured placements in relevant publications—driving branded mentions, authority backlinks, and referral traffic to Qooper’s site.

Targeted Contextual Link Strategy (Support Layer)

To reinforce rankings for priority product and use-case pages, we secured contextual links on relevant sites where the surrounding content aligned with Qooper’s core topics. Each placement was reviewed for topical fit, natural anchor language, and on-page context—strengthening keyword visibility while keeping the link profile clean and credible.

Results & Outcomes

After a consistent six-month campaign, Qooper achieved a 2203% increase in organic traffic. Results were driven by two lanes working together:

  • Authority & Trust Growth: Earned 57 editorial placements (avg DR 78), increasing branded mentions and high-quality referring domains.
  • Ranking & Visibility Lift: Stronger authority improved Qooper’s ability to rank for mentoring, learning, and career development software terms.
  • Qualified Traffic Gains: Higher rankings plus referral traffic from editorial coverage contributed to the 2203% organic traffic increase over 6 months.

Traffic quality also improved, with more visitors landing on product and use-case pages (not just blog content).

Some notable earned placements include:

  • CMSWire (DR 84): Assessing Your Team's Digital Workplace Skills
  • Her Campus (DR 78): The Pitfalls of a Passion-Based Career
  • Breadcrumbs (DR 71): How to Scale Growth: 8 Strategies to Get Out of a Slump
  • Hive (DR 76): 5 Leadership Theories Every Leader Should Know About

These placements helped Qooper build credibility at scale while strengthening authority signals that support rankings. As coverage accumulated, organic visibility improved across priority topics—contributing to sustained, compounding traffic growth over the campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently
‍
Asked Questions

Why is link building important (for SEO + AI visibility)?

Links and editorial mentions are third-party validation. They help Google understand your authority and improve rankings over time. They also strengthen the trusted “signals” AI tools look for when deciding which brands to cite and recommend—especially when those mentions come from reputable publications.

How does Digital PR help with AI visibility?

AI systems tend to surface brands they can verify through credible, independent sources. Digital PR earns those signals by getting your experts quoted and your brand mentioned on authoritative sites. The result: stronger brand authority across the web—which can increase the likelihood of being referenced in AI answers, summaries, and recommendations.

What’s the difference between white-hat and black-hat links?

White-hat link building follows search engine guidelines and focuses on earning links through real editorial coverage, quality content, and legitimate outreach (e.g., Qwoted/HARO-style media requests).

‍Black-hat tactics try to manipulate rankings through schemes (link networks, hidden links, spam). They may produce short-term wins but carry real penalty risk.

‍We only use white-hat, editorial-first methods designed for long-term, sustainable growth.

Do you write the content for each pitch?

Yes. Our team handles the writing—research, angle selection, and journalist-ready responses. We also run quality checks (grammar + originality). If you prefer to contribute, we can incorporate your input and approvals, but we’re built to be turnkey.

How long does it take to see placements go live?

Most clients start seeing placements within 2–6 weeks, depending on niche, spokesperson fit, and publisher timelines. Digital PR has natural lag because we’re working with journalists and editorial calendars. The upside is that a consistent monthly pipeline compounds—work done this month often yields placements in the following weeks/months.

Do you guarantee links?

We guarantee delivery of the placement count in your package that meets the agreed quality criteria (e.g., minimum DR, relevance/traffic checks—defined upfront).
‍
We can’t guarantee a specific publication, because final decisions are made by editors and journalists. If a placement doesn’t meet the agreed standards, we replace it.

What anchor text do you use?

Most editorial placements use branded or natural anchors (e.g., your brand name or company name). That’s normal for real journalism and is often safest long-term. When there’s a strong fit, we may also earn contextual links to relevant internal pages or blog posts—but final anchor text is always at the publisher’s discretion.

How do syndications work?

Sometimes an article published on one outlet gets republished (“syndicated”) to larger sites. That can significantly increase exposure and referral potential.
We track syndications when they occur. For counting purposes, we follow the rules in your package (e.g., counting one qualifying syndication per original placement when it meets the stated DR/quality threshold).
