How BloomsyBox grew
organic traffic 555%
in 10 months
BloomsyBox is a direct-to-consumer flower subscription brand competing with household names in one of eCommerce’s most seasonal, gift-driven categories. Reporter Outreach ran both of its services for ten months: the founder as an expert source for lifestyle and home journalists, and contextual link insertions under the pages that convert. This is what happened.
Loved by customers.
Invisible in search.
BloomsyBox competes in a category where the revenue queries belong to household names with decades of accumulated authority. By September 2023 the product was working and the customer base was loyal, but search was moving the wrong way: per Ahrefs, organic traffic had fallen for three straight months into kickoff and bottomed at 9.8K in October, month two of the engagement.
The reason fit in one picture. Underneath the slide sat the structural problem: 990 referring domains, in a category where the incumbents looked like this.
Product sets the pace in eCommerce.
Authority sets the ceiling.
Area is proportional to referring domains.
Two lanes,
one flywheel.
Lane one, digital PR: Reporter Outreach positioned founder and CEO Juan Palacio as an expert source for journalists already writing about flower care, gifting, and seasonal trends. No articles about BloomsyBox. Editorial coverage quoting the founder, with credit pointing home.
Lane two, link insertions: contextual dofollow links added to relevant existing lifestyle and home articles, each pointed at the commercial pages that convert. Together the two lanes produced 54 placements averaging DR 79. Here is one of the 54, at reading size.
“Gladiolus flowers are celebrated for their striking appearance and the rich symbolism they carry,” says Juan Palacio, CEO of BloomsyBox, an online floral delivery service. “Traditionally, these flowers symbolize strength of character, sincerity, and love. Their vertical blossoms can also signify reaching towards one’s full potential, making them a meaningful addition to any garden or bouquet,” he says.
“As the gladiolus starts to bloom, a balanced fertilizer can promote healthy growth and vibrant flowers,” says Palacio. “Choose a fertilizer low in nitrogen and higher in potassium and phosphorus, applying it according to the package instructions to support the development of strong blooms.”
10 months of outreach.
31 months of data.
Monthly organic traffic for bloomsybox.com, June 2023 through December 2025, including the seventeen months after the engagement ended in July 2024. Ahrefs estimates, retrieved July 2026.
What we can claim.
And what we can’t.
BloomsyBox has kept investing in its own growth since 2024, and recent traffic reflects that work as well as the links. We don’t claim the whole curve. We claim the coverage, the authority it built, and a floor that held.
Rented visibility stops when the spend stops.
This coverage didn’t.

What buyers ask after reading this page. Same answers, same timeline we quote on every engagement.
Both of Reporter Outreach’s core services in parallel: digital PR, positioning founder and CEO Juan Palacio as an expert source for journalists at lifestyle and home publications, and link insertions, contextual dofollow links added to relevant existing articles pointing at commercial pages. The two lanes together produced 54 placements averaging DR 79 across the ten-month engagement.
First placements typically go live within 2 to 3 weeks. Meaningful ranking movement usually shows in months 3 to 6, and compounding continues through months 6 to 12. BloomsyBox started from a decline: per Ahrefs, organic traffic had fallen three straight months into the September 2023 kickoff and bottomed in October, month two, then climbed through the rest of the engagement, ending July 2024 up 555% from the kickoff month.
Yes, and the timing shows why. Links compound: a placement gets indexed, earns trust, and keeps working long after it goes live, which is why the growth did not stop when the outreach did. Organic traffic more than doubled in the months after the engagement ended, from 77K in July 2024 to over 170K by February 2025, inside the 6 to 12 month compounding window we map for every campaign. Two years on, the placements featured on this page were re-verified live in September 2026, and even the weakest month since ran 5.8 times above the pre-kickoff baseline.
Because shoppers, and increasingly AI assistants, discover DTC brands through editorial recommendations: gift guides, product roundups, and expert-sourced features on publications they already trust. Those mentions cannot be bought on-site, and the authority they carry accrues at the domain level, lifting the product and collection pages that actually convert. For a brand competing against household names in a seasonal category, that third-party trust is the difference between being found and being invisible.
Same playbook, three other industries.
